Rules for using John Burroughs' Woodchuck Lodge after dusk

The MHAA has an exclusive arrangement with John Burroughs' Woodchuck Lodge, a National Historic Landmark and dark site located in Roxbury, NY in the Catskills (Catskill Park). While the site closes to the general public at sundown, MHAA members with active paid memberships are granted permission to be onsite at night for free.

This arrangement does not require us to inform the Lodge ahead of our arrival, however you are required to:

  • Read through and agree to the MHAA release of liability
  • Carry your MHAA membership card with you and present it if requested (print or download here)
    • Re-print/download your card after membership renewal so the expiration date is accurate
